Kansas City Yoga Examiner

Hey everyone!

I was waiting to post this link until I actually had some content up on the target page. I am very excited to announce that I am now the Kansas City Yoga Examiner for examiner.com. Examiner is a site that provides geographic-specific information on a wide variety of topics. It has been successful in other markets and just recently launched in Kansas City.

Maintaining the Proper Perspective

Earlier today I was feeling doubtful about my ability to make a living as a freelance writer. After spending a couple of hours this morning applying for gigs, I did about $50 worth of writing and then gave in to the urge to take an afternoon nap (what can I say, it’s Monday, I was dragging). After waking up, I wrote a quick $5 assignment, and then it was time to head to my yoga class.

One-Week Check-In

I’ve been unemployed/self-employed now for a week, so I thought I would check in and let everyone know how things are going. Well, things are going awesomely, thank you very much. Sometimes we don’t realize how bad a situation is for us until it’s behind us.

By the Way …

To my loyal (and my occasional) readers: I realize this blog has migrated towards focusing on my writing goals and my career aspirations. Which is perhaps understandable as these things are my biggest focus at this point. But be assured that as soon as things settle down, I will resume exploring topics related to health and wellness, alternative medicine, and mind/body fitness. I just haven’t been doing much reading lately. :)

I’m toying with the idea of moving all accounts of my writing life to a separate blog, but that is just a tiny flicker of an idea that will have to wait for a while. I’ve also purchased a new domain name which I am very excited about developing, but again … gotta pay the bills first.

Thanks to everyone for your amazing outpouring of support. My peeps are the best.

Universal Intervention

Welcome to day 3 of my full-time freelancing life! It is shaping out to be everything I had envisioned. Here I sit at my home computer, a pot of French Caramel Cream coffee brewing, a full day’s worth of interesting writing projects (and a lunch date with a good friend) ahead of me.

The past couple of days have been a bit hectic as I have been attending to personal business and dealing with the shock of losing my full-time job.

Thought for the Day

“When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.”

Helen Keller

I now have two posts up on Green Diva Mom, which is very exciting. I am really enjoying writing for this site and think it is a great community and excellent resource for green living. You can see my profile and articles here:
