		<description>Peter,

Thank you for reading and commenting! I actually thought the coffee example was a little silly when I first read it, but I thought I’d throw it out there nonetheless. I can assure you I have aims that are bigger (and more magnanimous) than conjuring up a grande vanilla latte or a new computer.

Of course manifestation requires action, and of course it is all much more complex than a few chapters of one (perhaps, from your POV, oversimplified) book can convey. Right now I am just getting started with exploring the importance of positive thinking and thought control. Definitely looking forward to learning and experiencing more!

		<description>Karen
Nice blog post.
It&#039;s great you are trying and interested enough to read a book.

But &quot;Ask, believe, and receive.&quot; is not LOA. This simplistic approach annoys me, because it frames the whole of LOA in the wrong light, which is why IMHO you aren&#039;t understanding it.

Do you really think you DESERVE a cup of coffee?
Do you really think universal energy is going to order you up coffee by telepathy?
Erm go make one you lazy Karen ;-)

LOA is serious life changing stuff.
What you describe about the feather is simple neural programming to look for it. It isn&#039;t a universal energy speaking.

With Abraham Hicks LOA and Bob Proctor LOA at least they go in to what it is and why it works.

But it isn&#039;t meant to be trifled with.

Part of the LOA process to know, deep in your heart, deep in your sub conscious, deep in your soul, what it is your really, really, want.
Then when you have done enough to DESERVE it (usually by helping others) then you get a chance.
That chance is then to TAKE ACTION and FOCUS on what you absolutely must have.

Then, and only then, will the universe even consider it.

As for asking for coffee, Jeezes!

SMALL does not cut it in LOA.

If you want to start small, work out how to get 100 cups of tea to an old folks home, or a hospital.
I know it&#039;s more demanding than putting your own kettle on, but it would do way more good in the universe.

And that&#039;s a large part of what LOA is about.
not just your universe, but everyones universe.

But as you&#039;ve asked, pop round and I will make you coffee gladly. So see it does work!
But that isn&#039;t LOA. That&#039;s me hoping to kick start your REAL life - which isn&#039;t coffee drinking.

When you die, what do you want to leave behind?
What do you want people to say about you
What do you want to have experienced with GIVING to other people?

These are the sort of LOA questions you should be asking yourself.
Not trying to get some circus magician coincidence trick for a feather to come on demand.

So please, start to get serious about LOA and stop believing soap box salesmen.

Enjoy your journey.
