Where Does Self-Actualization Start?

This week I am listening to a program called Building Self-Esteem in Your Child. No, I do not have any kids. But Ryan does, which makes me a part-time mother figure of sorts. So I figured it couldn’t hurt to learn some basic parenting skills.

I wasn’t really expecting to hear about self-actualization on an audio CD about parenting, but I guess given the topic of self-esteem, it makes sense.

Be Careful What You Wish For

Did I just say I wished I had more time to work on building my residual income streams? It appears my wish has just been granted … I just received word from AltGlobe that they are suspending paid blog posts — apparently indefinitely — due to some difficulties with investors. It’s sad news — not only was AltGlobe my first regular freelancing gig, but it was also really cool to have regular writing assignments that dealt with my personal interests of yoga and spirituality. This also takes away a large chunk of my projected income for March. The good news is, I will have more time to devote to my editing project and to learning how to generate more income on ehow. Fortunately, I can afford to take the pay cut; it will just reduce what I am able to put towards my savings goal. But if I can get ehow to work for me, it could very well make up for the setback.

The funny thing is, if this had happened yesterday or even earlier today, I probably would have considered it a much bigger setback and would have gotten discouraged about my freelancing goals. But after reading a bit about earning residual income (check out Residual Income Web Blog, I’m really excited to start making my writing work for me.

That is one of my strengths, after all — I can always find a new project to get excited about.

Income and Indecision

Freelance earnings for February totaled $125, down from January’s $140. However, I had a $105 assignment in January that was not repeated, so I was able to almost make up for it with Demand Studios articles and other clients. March projections are already at $200, and could increase if I pick up some more assignments. But with my book editing project underway, I doubt I will have time for any extra writing.

But here I go changing my mind again. I’m starting to realize that the best way to earn money with my writing is to start generating passive income through different revenue streams. I’ve been reading a few blogs of people who are doing this — one woman makes around $1500 a month from her ehow articles, plus additional passive income through other sources.
