Doing the not-so-great stuff

Today’s “Note from the Universe” e-mail is particularly relevant in light of yesterday’s post:

Until the really “great” stuff comes along, do the not-so-great stuff.

The not-so-great stuff always leads to the great stuff. Whereas doing nothing pretty much leads to nowhere.

And do it with a passion.

Maybe writing $5 assignments for Demand Studios and non-paying posts for ehow is the “not-so-great stuff,” but it’s what is available to me now, and I am doing it with a passion, even if I can’t see exactly how or when it’s going to lead to bigger things. It’s a lot more than I was doing six months ago, or one month ago, or even two weeks ago. I have no doubts that other jobs will follow … maybe even great jobs. (I did actually pick up a couple of $15 assignments from DS yesterday, so that is progress!)

Doing nothing leads to nowhere. But taking a step, no matter how small, sets the wheels in motion so that the Universe can begin to work behind the scenes to make things happen. You have to start somewhere.
